A warm welcome to Redland Bay Golf Club Veterans club. Our objective is to promote golf and encourage new members to join our wonderful club. To be eligible to play Veterans - Males need to be 55 years and over and Ladies 50 years and over. You must have a Golf Australia handicap. Unfinancial Redland Bay Vets, non QVGU holders are not eligible for competitive awards. Redland Bay Golf Club is one (1) of 100 Queensland golf clubs that is affliated through 21 Districts to the Queensland Veterans Golf Union (www.qvga.com.au). The District in which we are located is the Albert & Logan Veterans Golf Association (A&LVGA). Redland Bay Vets play each Monday from 7.10am to 8.50am from two (2) tees (excliding Public Holidays).

A wallet size Redland Bay Vets Fixture Card is also provided by the Vets Committee. The 2020 wallet sized card is available from the raffle table on Monday's or from the Committee.

An annual membership fee of $12 is payable for both men and women. This fee is payable to the Veterans Treasurer on the day of joining or to the Admin staff at front reception. It can also be paid each year with your renewal of fees.
Financial Redland Bay Veteran members are provided with Queensland Veterans Golf Union Inc. (QVGU) membership card which enables card holders to play in vet competitions throughout Queensland and Australia.
Can be made a fortnight ahead through the Redland Bay Golf Club internet booking system or alternatively through the Office or Pro Shop. Please cancel Your booking either by phone, over the internet if you are unable to play.
Our club championships are played in three divisions over three successive weeks. Prizes are presented at the presentation day luncheon, usually held in November / December.
We encourage members to stay for presentation of weekly prizes as this is an opportunity to hear various announcements relating to forthcoming events, rules explanations, course changes, district news, etc and most importantly provides the opportunity for social interaction with the other vet members. Each week there is a cash raffle with 2 prizes (Effective 10/02/2020). Golf prizes can be taken as a voucher for spending within the club or the Pro Shop and the ball run down and NTP prizes are added to members online ball account. Visitors to collect competition vouchers and balls from the Pro/Golf Shop.
Interclub CompetitionsThese are generally shot gun starts, to allow for travelling clubs time to get to Redland Bay. The start times are listed in the Vets fixture card and also on the website. These provide an opportunity for you to “play for the club” as well as trying other courses in the Albert & Logan District at Veterans competition fees.
There is also an opportunity to play in District Championships. To participate you will need to nominate. Information regarding the district competition is available from the Veterans Committee
Qld Veterans Golf UnionHalcyon Community Living have agreed to provide sponsorship for a number of events at the Redland Bay GC during 2020. For the Ladies and Veterans it is in the way of ‘lucky door prizes’ and the vets will be conducting these lucky door prizes in the same manner as we have done in the past for other sponsorship lucky draws. ie the player MUST be present (usually following the daily event presentation) at the time of the draw to be able to receive the prize and the draw will continue until all sponsorship prizes have been won. The Veterans at this point in time have been granted sponsorship prizes for 2 of our competition events and to accommodate the sponsorship, the events will change from a normal 2 Tee start to a shotgun start. The dates that have been selected for the changes are as follows:- Monday 6 April and Monday 29 June with the 6/4 date being a 8.00am shotgun start and the 29/6 date being a 8.30am shotgun start.. Veterans are also advised that for the 1st sponsored event, ie 6 April, a free sausage sizzle for all players will be held following the completion of the game and prior to the presentation.
The Qld Veterans Golf Union Inc (QVGU) memebrship cards for 2020 are now available. The membership card enables the holder to play in any Vet competitions throughout Qld and Australia. Any RBGC Veteran requiring this card, please contact any member of the Veterans Committee to enable a membership card to be issued.
The RBGC Veterans pocket size fixture card is now available and can be collected from the raffle table or a committee member as from Monday 10 February 2020.
A nomination sheet is available at the raffle table as from Monday 10 February for any players wishing to represent the RBGC veterans in the Teams Championships conducted by the Albert & Logan District Veterans Association. Details as to the dates and venues for the 3 games are shown on the nomination sheet and it is preferable if players are available for all 3 games or at least 2 of the games as clubs are only allowed the same 3 reserves to cover all 3 games.
